1.
The Waiting 04:28
Truly in my heart I don't mind the waiting, I don't mind the waiting at all Because good things will come, Will come to me.
2.
A Longing 03:50
A longing for things that I must consider dead. A longing for things that I won't see again. A longing for something I once had but won't again. You owe me a part of me heart. A longing.
3.
Isolation 02:59
I'm used to feeling sad Like something born to be destructed And how I warm myself in that fire When I burn my hopes, my dreams, my love and desire Come and erase what makes me numb And bring all the things that never come I'm used to being alone, but not on my own I never meant to be isolated, in isolation
4.
Destruction 03:23
Take me back to the destruction of all the things we lived all the things we never thought we once would have Take me back to all the wreckage To all the rotten things, broken things That we can never hold together or apart Cos if not then all is gone.
5.
I am a mountain of blood and bones. I am a mountain. And parts of stone. I am a mountain. I am mountain of things piled up to the very top. But I want to run, I want to return. I want what I was promised to start over.
6.
7.
The Uniter 06:00
Will I find the uniter of me To minimize my destructivity? The uniter. The uniter. Does it come unexpectedly? Or is it hidden deep inside of me? The uniter. The uniter. Will I find and be able to see? Will I find and be ready to be the uniter, the uniter?
8.
The Beast 03:27
Oh all the things one cannot name Are kept in secret out of shame But they are there. They are there. So then the beast comes back again Half animal and half a man Reminding me of what I am And that it all ends. That it all ends. Oh in all the places that I wait, He is in everything I break They are there. They are there. So then the beast comes back to life And I let everything die I turn by back and never cry And it all ends. And it all ends.
9.
September 06:04
This is time to stop But oh you keep me waiting And all I gave was enough But you keep me holding on And it's so sad, so sad. And you left me there alone with my love, my love.
10.
Lonely 03:42
So lonely, but I'm waiting, I'm waiting.. I am so lonely.

about

YESTERDAY is my solo music project. In 2006, it won the Termómetro Unplugged Festival; it participated in the Novos Talentos FNAC 2012 [FNAC New Talents 2012] compilation CD and, in that same year, it also won the Jovens Criadores [Young Creators] award.

THE WAITING marks a period between the Summer of 2012 and the beginning of 2014. This album, like the ones before ((WARning, Once Upon a Forest, Colder Hands, Eu Já Cá Estive Antes, You Are The Harvest), is the result of a long process, in which the songs are born, they grow and are then recorded at a time when they detach themselves as units. This recording is, therefore, not dependent on budgets nor the availability of recording studios. It respects the pauses and accelerations of something that is being born and so, it is the intense recording of sounds according to the technology available to me and my always-limited knowledge of it.

To me, the recording of songs is a passion only comparable to my collections of old and abandoned things. Thus, playing live doesn’t make much sense to me – nothing from that passion of recording remains when playing outside my home. In addition, such distinctions as author and producer; indie and professional; low and high quality become meaningless.

Taking this into consideration, this album had to have the opportunity to be downloaded for free. Even the covers were made in order to be printed and done at home. It’s like sharing something that you love, without any kind of pressures, knowing that even if there isn’t an audience to listen, music will always keep on manifesting itself through me… music does not need an audience to exist. The situation of someone who is alone at home and who, suddenly, sings out of happiness or to scare off his demons, is its most faithful image.
